Interest on qualifying excess

The portion above the greater of $50 or one month’s periodic rent bears 5% annual interest when the tenant remains in possession for six months or more, computed and paid annually.

30 days

The section requires identified, itemized deductions and the amount due within 30 days after both termination of the rental agreement and delivery of possession.

Scope notes

The tenant is directed to provide a forwarding or new address in writing; failure affects the damages and attorney-fee remedy described in subsection C.
